Substantives and new course registrations

Hello all,

I hope this email finds you all enjoying the start of spring. I wanted to remind all students who have registered for a course, but have not yet completed their Substantive Assignment, to do so as soon as possible. Once you have completed the Substantive Assignment, not only are you ready to move into the main content of the course, but the course will officially show up on school transcripts. This is important for those of you wanting to apply to post-secondary institutions, as without being registered, these institutions may not consider your application as complete.

Additionally, now is a good time to consider registering a new course if you plan to work on coursework over the summer. If you register for a course now, you are able to spend the next several months making progress in the course, while having regular access to the course teacher. Over the summer, we do still have staff available, but not on a full-time basis. Making a good connection with your teacher now will allow you to continue to progress over the summer. Please talk to your teacher about what might be a good "next step" course for you to register for.

As always, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
